The highly requested ‘No Makeup Makeup Look’

I’ve added a few excellent pro makeup items to my kit thanks to some awesome PR contacts as well as my own investment in new high-def complexion tools/ products. The number one request on clients especially for bridal events is flawless skin and a polished, no makeup-makeup complexion which is hard to achieve but so timeless.

Aside from proper skin prep, the ‘no makeup-makeup’ look revolves around skin that looks like skin and camouflaging imperfections without pounds of makeup. Ahem ‘cake face.’ So I typically choose multiple complexion mediums from color corrector, foundations, concealers and loose powders but I use minimal product and close attention to detail when it comes to blending. Blending is Key!

Now here’s a peek at some new additions to my pro kit:

RCMA Foundation is used on Movie, TV, Film, etc and has been noted as a must have for pro makeup artists internationally! High pigmentation packed into a lightweight texture idea for long wear. The RCMA makeup line is completely mineral oil free and made in small batches by true makeup artisans who are all about quality ingredients.

Mehron Makeup HD Celebre Pro Highlight and Contour Palette is a dream to blend. Incredible flexible coverage with a gorgeous color selection. It is often used for editorial work and the Mehron brand is ALWAYS a staple at New York Fashion Week. The result? Amazing skin on camera and in real life.

As if I wasn’t already obsessed with a polished, fresh complexion I got this incredible ‘My Scultped Face’ Palette from IT Cosmetics which I’ve been using for both face and eyes on pretty much everyone in my chair. It has a fine texture that looks more like skin than obvious shading and illuminating.

&& of course some new tools I cannot live without:

A few of my brushes were stolen last month along with my iPhone 5 but I bought these new ones at IMATS to add to my collection (& upgraded to an iPhone 6). I’m pretty impressed with these brushes from Crown Brush and Morphe¬†– great value for money tools.

This week I was sent this care package from Beautyblender. How cute is the Micro.Mini Beautyblender? I will be testing these out soon. Also find the limited edition Red.Carpet Beautyblender now at Sephora! If your makeup artist does not have the original Beautyblender in their kit, run away! Just kidding but seriously it makes a complete difference in blending the skin will look airbrushed and seamless with these pro makeup staples.

Hello 27

A bit delayed because I literally have had zero time to myself but I thought I would do a quick reflection on what’s been marinating on my mind lately. Birthdays always bring me into reflection mode and ignites my motivation to come up with new adventures to conquer. Last week, I celebrated my birthday low key with family and friends with a few of my favorite things: sushi, ice cream, hill top dining and sweet birthday hugs from my mini me.

I challenged myself this year to not be afraid to be uncomfortable and it has brought me exciting successes.

“Rochelle Delossantos” simply isn’t just my name but it is the heart of how I represent myself as a business driven, articulate and artful thinker fighting to create my point of view in the beauty industry.

Beauty products are more than collector’s items on my vanity they are memories and emotions that transform beyond their material purpose. Starting from my youth what I clinged to was beautiful pieces of luxury that told a story – they represent something beyond mere visual value. It has taken me multiple reflections to realize that the passion for beauty that I have is moved by the ideas of confidence, mystery and most of all provoking thoughts to otherwise ordinary material possessions.

Before I get too deep, what I will consciously put at the forefront of my purpose this year is putting my dreams before obstacles.

Cheers to a year of hard work, good timing and creative innovations in all aspects of my life.

Getting Electric Inspired

Wile browsing through Instagram in the last week, there has been a flood of bright eye makeup looks in my feed with the latest launch from Urban Decay, the vibrant and ultra-pigmented Electric Palette.

Although the intensely saturated ten hues housed in a gorgeous piece of signature Urban Decay abstract art is a makeup palette fit for the true makeup collector, the extra bright shades didn’t intrigue me enough to make a purchase. I do however love a creative eye look and decided to pull out an assortment of colors I don;t normally wear and post my own colorful creation.

What I used:

>>> prior to doing this eye makeup I had a small amount of Dior Airflash foundation in shade 300 under my eyes and 400 on the outside of my face, EOS minty lip balm (my lips are naturally pretty pink), Anastasia Beverly Hills Dip Brow in Ebony, Maybelline The Falsies Mascara in Black.

Urban Decay 24/7 Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner in Radium

Makeup Forever Aqua Eyes Eye Pencil in 7L

Butter London Wink Colour Mascara in Jaded Jack

&

Mehron Makeup Intense Eyeshadow in Ocean Breeze, Metallic Powder in Copper, Earth Pressed Powder Pigments Palette

I love, love, love the Mehron Eyeshadows! They blend true to color from what is in the pan and since they are a beauty to theatrical brand made for the stage and film a tiny amount of product leaves a major impact. In the above photo I blended them all over my eyes without a primer. Have you tried the bright eye makeup trend?
