A rich bright pink can easily perk up a makeup look and the cool tone of Nars Audacious Lipstick in ‘Michiyo’ is the perfect balance between fashion and sophistication. Of course summer is the season to whip out the brights but paired with a warm brown or diffused grey eye makeup, this gorgeous Nars hue is a fun alternative to the expected wine and red lip colors that always make an appearance in fall makeup collections. Read more about my thoughts on ‘Michiyo’ by reading my review on Examiner.com here.
I purchased this lovely lipstick in Beverly Hills and caught a pretty cool free lipstick case engraving promotion at the Nars counter there. Now I just need a vintage lipstick holder to keep the matte black looking fresh! (I also bought a second lipstick for my mom in a more muted coral shade ‘Jane’ & got it engraved with her name.) The flash makes the lipstick appear glossier than it is in real life. The Audacious lipstick formula is best described as a natural satin finish – somewhere between matte and satin.
Peaceful mornings last week to calm my sick throat and headaches consisted of Lipton noodle soup, a soy latte and of course a face mask.
My current favorites from the previous week are Dior Capture Totale One Essential Ultra Detox Treatment Mask for its cooling gel texture and hydrating anti inflammatory/ anti aging properties & Caudalie Vinoperfect Enzymatic Peel Mask for the amazing skin renewing radiance that my dull skin needs when suffering from a cold. A face mask is the best way to introduce a surge of skin boosting ingredients in a short time frame. Whenever my energy level is low or when my face needs a refresher I pick up a face mask and dedicate 5 to 15 minutes of me-time before going on with my day.
There’s always time even just for a few minutes to maintain healthy skin habits!
This last week was a challenging week from sending a much loved family member to his uplifted home in heaven to professional obstacles – there were many solemn moments of reflections for me to endure; not to mention nearly losing my voice from a traveling household cold.
A conversation a couple days ago brought me flashbacks to a heartbreaking professional conversation that happened in the previous year. I had tears remembering that gut wrenching feeling of someone you admire dearly saying the opposite of what you thought was going to be proclaimed. I may be young in age but my soul is mature and I will forever believe that my goals are attainable because I know myself.
In general, I consider myself someone with a strong will and thankfully news that truly frustrated me in the working environment did not only motivate me to think creatively but it brought me to great analytical thought over what my personal value truly is. So often I review products, ingredients and recap events but do not give myself a moment to soak in newfound accomplishments.
Though I felt defeated I am not one to stay down for long. I took a bold move in lieu of basking in disappointment and put my heart/soul onto paper for someone who did not immediately believe in my talents and I’m confident that she will not forget my name. As I discovered my passion at a young age, I decided to absorb all of life’s experiences and prepare for the moments of life when discouraged opportunities turn into points of difference between success and regret.
On that note, a new week has begun move with your heart and creative mind in tact and anything is tangible.

& here’s one of my favorite MOTD from last week’s work grind. I’m wearing Dior Rouge #786 on my lips, Ardell Wispies False Lashes, Dior Forever Foundation, Cover FX Bronzer, Chantecaille on my eyes and cheeks, Bobbi Brown Color Corrector in Peach under my eyes, Koh Gen Do UV Powder, Kardashian Beauty Navy eyeliner on the bottom lash line & Dior Liquid Liner on the upper lash line.
Good morning, mine is starting with an iced chai latte along with a sesame bagel with tomatoes, cream cheese and lemon pepper that I devoured before a photo could be taken from Grounds Bakery in Long Beach. It’s a totally addictive breakfast spot!
I’m spending the morning at my little girl’s dance class with a couple trusty Chantecaille essentials. (Had to throw in a little luxe beauty somewhere!)
I’m wearing my favorite tinted moisturizer; Chantecaille Just Skin Antismog Tinted Moisturizer SPF 15 in shade Wheat and Chantecaille’s Luminous Gloss in shade Framboise.
