Although I am a fan of glowing makeup, there is something about sparkling glitter highlighters that I cannot stand. In photos, on film and in daylight glitter overkill is not a good look.

Generally, a lighter concealer or color corrector is the only highlighter I use on myself with the exception of BECCA Cosmetics Shimmering Skin Perfector. (I love love love that product – discreet and it is a flattering pearl finish). I’ve been in love with Illamasqua Skin Base Lift Concealer as the texture is luxurious and the finish is lasting but I’ve hit pan and decided to test some new concealers that are in my stash.

My taste in makeup leans toward the luxe brands but when I find a drugstore beauty find that satisfies the look I prefer, it is an exciting moment.

I was sent the Maybelline Age Rewind Concealer a few months back and included the product in a piece for Examiner.com but forgot how much I liked it! The rounded sponge tip applicator is an idea shape for softly applying product on the curved under eye triangle. High pigment and lightweight in texture, the concealer sets to a matte finish without looking dry or settling into fine lines.

Maybelline Age Rewind Concealer is available at most local drugstores, Ulta Beauty or Target and retails at under $10. I would consider it a slightly more matte version of MAC Prolongwear Concealer with more color payoff. Give it a try!
